Galvanic

The electroplating (galvanic or treatment) is a technique , used for more in industrial field, that allows to cover a non-precious metal with a thin layer of a more precious metal or more noble exploiting the electrolytic deposition.
This process is usually used for corrosion protection of metallic structures, but may also have decorative purpose. For example by electroplating it is possible to coat the copper with silver or steel with zinc, tin, nickel or chromium.
The galvanic treatment chosen by us is not based on silver, but on the white bronze, element that, to treat it, does not require the use of cyanide. The end result is a “silver”, shiny piece, bright and not subject to oxidation. Rhodium and silver, the two elements most used in jewelry for the plating bath, can perhaps be more shiny but, the industrial process is highly polluting more.
The company chosen by Bioetic Bijoux for the galvanic treatment is Italian, with operational headquarters in the Italian territory, and is certified in compliance with Italian and European standards for the disposal of toxic substances.
